IRONMAN LANGKAWI MALAYSIA TRIATHLON
Once again the hottest race on the Ironman is in Langkawi, Malaysia, the circuit has attracted an impressive field – it promises to be a close battle between some of the world's premier Ironman tri-athletes as they compete at Ironman Malaysia.
The day begins with a two-loop swim in Kuah Bay next to a giant eagle statue that dominates the Jetty Point port area. The three-loop bike course features a few steep hills, but despite that promises to be fast. It is the four-loop run course that makes the race in Langkawi so tough. The terrain isn't that challenging - it's the heat that the athletes face as they go through the marathon that makes things difficult. The beautiful finish line at the Jetty Point area provides welcome relief at the end of a tough day of racing.
It is a spectacular venue, but not an easy course thanks to the intense heat and humidity the athletes must face. data, This a something not to be missed, so stay tuned for an exciting racing in langkawi, Malaysia.
Lotto Ironman Malaysia takes place on Langkawi, a popular island resort destination in Malaysia. It's tough not because of the course, which consists of a very warm swim, a rolling bike and a relatively flat run course. It's tough because it can get really hot, especially during the run. How hot? In 2001 temperatures that reached 43 degrees Celsius (which is very close to 110 degrees Fahrenheit for anyone who thinks in those terms).
- Swimming – Athletes begin their day with a two-loop swim in the Kuah Bay, beginning and ending at the waters beside the prominent Dataran Lang (Eagle Square).
- Cycling – The 180.2km route begins at the Jetty after athletes complete their initiating swim. The terrain for this three-loop course is a combination of flat land and hills.
- Running – With a fairly acceptable terrain, athletes should feel comfortable to complete this obstacle. However, even the strongest athletes have a hard time running in the heat of Langkawi in February. The total of 42.2km run begins and ends at the Dataran Lang (Eagle Square) in Kuah.

It is the run that makes the race in Langkawi so tough. The terrain isn't that challenging - it's the heat that the athletes face as they go through the marathon that makes things difficult. After the fourth loop is complete, they run one kilometer back to the jetty, and end the day at the beautiful finish line which is just meters short of the spectacular eagle statue, a welcome beacon at the end of what will no-doubt be a tough day of racing.
